| About Me | Nov 20, 2006 |

My name is Svetlana Eltsova. Born Russian I spent my childhood in the deep Ural country side next to Tyumen town, the main Siberian oil region center. I graduated from Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg) Pedagogical Institute with MS in German and English languages.
I have been beading for over 7 years. My craft background includes many self-taught techniques and stitches: peyote, brick stitch, netting, Ndebele (herringbone) and square stitches. My beadwork is created off-loom. I am using only a needle and thread.
My focus is floral beaded jewellery design. I most enjoy doing three-dimensional work.
Many people recognize my work when they see it, whether that’s due to wild flowers and those ones grown in the countryside gardens. In my “botanical” beaded jewelry collection you can find chamomiles, marigolds, pansies, lilac, red current berries, snowdrops and snowberries and other wild flora examples, as well.

I just love the shapes of flowers and leaves.
Each time I watch a flower or a leaf, I try to translate those images in my mind to a beaded piece for my neck or wrists.
I enjoy making a stunning piece of jewelry with high quality seed beads, crystal or glass beads, as well as with semiprecious stones even more, when wear it.
I regularly exhibit my work, including recent solo exhibition in Lahti, Finland, at Finland’s Second Pearl&Beads Fair 2010.
Since 2007 I’m a member of the Beadworkers Guild (UK).
In 2009 I joined the Registered Association of Finnish Beadworkers, Helmeilijät ry.
I have a number of publications.
My beadwork can be seen in “Bead and Button” magazine “Your Work Gallery” and BWG members’ books and on-line gallery.
